Jeffrey T. Cordon, 79, of Holliston, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Roberta (Cluney) and Theone Cordon. He was the husband of 58 years to Nadine (Sloan) Cordon of Holliston.Jeff grew up outside of Philadelphia and graduated from Springfield High School in 1963, after which he attended Penn State University, where his lifelong fandom of Penn State football and sports began. He was a passionate, avid Penn State fan for years and accumulated a wealth of Penn State gear and decorations over his lifetime. While still a student at Penn State, he married the love of his life, Nadine. After graduating with a degree in economics, he moved with Nadine to Massachusetts, where they set up their life and started a family. Jeff worked for over 55 years as a CPA for banks and financial institutions and still worked part time up until his death. He had a keen analytical mind, was just as at ease working with numbers as he was with people and was meticulously organized, both at work and at home. His hobbies included playing racquetball with friends, which he often did several times per week before commuting to work, and softball, which he played in Holliston for over 20 years, even getting the opportunity to play on the same team with both of his sons before hanging up his cleats as a player and continuing on as the official team scorekeeper. Jeff loved vacationing with his family every summer in Ocean City, NJ. He also enjoyed reading and lounging by the pool in the backyard, where they hosted their annual 4th of July pool party. To know Jeff was to know how passionate he was about his family and his children and grandchildren’s sports and activities. He was a youth soccer coach for his boys and later was an ardent supporter and ‘season ticketholder’ to all his grandchildren’s games. He could always be seen – rain or shine – on the sidelines supporting and cheering them on.In addition to his wife, Jeff is survived by his children, Derek Cordon of Holliston and Jeremy Cordon and his wife Jill of Holliston, and his five grandchildren Kyle, Sloan, Tatum, Brody and Kaitlyn.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boston Children’s Hospital (https://www.childrenshospital.org/). |
