Mark Vincent Duffy, 78, passed away peacefully at home, with his daughters beside him, on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Born in Boston, he was the child of the late Evelyn (Sullivan) Giuffre and George Duffy.Mark, known to many as “Duff,” was widely regarded as one of the best carpet installers in the area, known for his exceptional skill, attention to detail, and dedication to his craft. Over the years, many friends and aspiring tradesmen had the privilege of working alongside him, learning the trade from a true master. His work ethic and expertise not only provided a wonderful life for his family but also helped set up others for success, leaving a lasting impact on those he mentored.Diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in October 2010, Mark fought tirelessly for over a decade, undergoing several brain surgeries and treatments. Throughout his journey, he never complained, always faced each challenge with humor, and remained a source of strength and positivity for his family. His determination to live fully for his daughters, Erin and Keri, and for the life and friends he cherished, was an inspiration to all who knew him.Mark had a deep love of history and reading and enjoyed traveling, especially to Michigan, Cape Cod, and on the many cruises he took with the people he loved dearly. One of his most unforgettable trips was taking his family on a month-long safari through Tanzania, Africa. He also enjoyed the many family trips to England over the years to visit his daughter and the many friends he made there. He was a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and a proud supporter of President Trump.Mark is survived by his daughters, Erin Kyle Duffy and Keri Lynn Duffy, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond of love, as well as his many cousins and extended family. His humor, generosity, and warm spirit made him beloved by many, and he leaves behind a close-knit group of friends who became like family over the years.The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Deepa Rangachari, whose exceptional care and compassion were a great comfort to Mark and his family.Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery. |
