Jeannette Crary

Jeannette Crary, 88, Lifelong resident of Holliston, died peacefully Tuesday evening, February 13, at the Eliot Health Care Center in Natick where she had recently resided with her beloved sister, Eunice.

Born January 31, 1919, Jeannette was educated in the Holliston schools and proudly graduated from Wheelock College in 1941. She returned to her home and taught many first graders at the Andrews School for 38 years. She loved every child who came through her class, and made each one feel
so very special. She was an active participant in the town she loved, supporting among other things, her church, the Food Pantry, and the Senior Citizens Center. She served also on The Council on Aging.

In addition to Eunice, her devoted sister and lifelong companion, Jeannette is survived by cousins, Diane Fraser and Helen Conklin, David and Candace Conklin, Norma and Richard Hopkins, and Scott and Mary Alice Conklin, Maris Mainer and their families and many friends. Donations may be made to the Jeannette Crary Scholarship, established upon Jeannette’s retirement in 1979, in care of the Holliston Federation of Teachers, ATTN: Kate Oneschuk at Holliston High School, or to the Holliston Pantry Shelf, 23 Water Street, Holliston.

Visitation will be Thursday morning February 22, from 10 to 11 AM, at the Chesmore Funeral Home 854 Washington St. Holliston. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home with Reverend David Fountain of the First Congregational Church of Holliston.
