Verna S. Hobson, 85, of Holliston, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Ruth (Morse) and John Shaheen. She was the wife of the late Lance Hobson. 

Verna proudly lived in Holliston for 50 years and enjoyed all the committees and clubs that she was able to participate in. Her heart really went to the First Congregational Church of Holliston where she participated over her 50 years of membership. She also took part in many opportunities at the senior center, including the writers group. Verna loved to write spiritual hymns and poems, of which she wrote over 100.

Verna is survived by two daughters, Linda Cook of Leicester, MA and Susan Landadio and her husband, Michael of Sterling, MA. She was predeceased by her son, Raymond Hobson. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, Christopher, Samuel, Matthew, Emma, Joshua, Timothy, Sophia, and Isabella Landadio, as well as Daniel and Sarah Cook. She is predeceased by her grandson, Seth Hobson. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8th from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church of Holliston. A 10:00 a.m. funeral service will follow visitation in the church. Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holliston Senior Center, 150 Goulding St. Holliston, MA 01746 or to First Congregational Church of Holliston, 725 Washington St. Holliston, MA 01746.
