Mike cared so much for his players. A great coach and friend.

To Michael's dear family, dad Ed and mom Kerry, I am so sorry and extend my deepest sympathy. Mike will always be in my heart. It's with devastation and disbelief that he has left us but he is an angel in heaven now in gods hands. My son Michael Sico was one of his true best friends. They shared so much together and he will miss him terribly. There are no words to make this easier. They say time will heal and I certainly hope so. His heart was larger than life. He'll be remembered for all of the good he has done, for the loving father he was. With love to you all, Marilyn

I am a stranger to Mike, that is we've never met. However, I have a charming story that I've never publically shared and figure now is a good to time to tell it. I saw him once years ago, taking a craps lesson with a buddy of his at The Venetian in Las Vegas where I work. They were having a great time and didn't approach them. I kept walking, which I've always for some reason have regretted. The funny thing is the movie Miracle had just come out a short time before and a couple of the girls in the office were talking about it, being a perfect date movie (good for guys with hockey, championships, heart & soul. good for girls as it was eye candy for days). As I was saying earlier, I was walking through the table games section of the casino, on my way to my office when I saw them. They were both laughing with the Pit Boss as they were getting a lesson. Mike's smile was so bright, it light up the table. I kept walking with no interruption in my pace. However, I quickly called one of the girls in my office and said.."Dude, I think OC is in the dice pit". Well, all I can tell you is she was on the opposite side of the campus when I called, but was able to call me back from the craps pit in about 30 seconds (so she must have flew!) to confirmed it was him. We both laughed. It was pretty funny if you were there. So when the news of Mike's passing came out, her and I immediately reconnected and re-shared this story with each other. I'm in shock and my heart & thoughts goes out to his family. Mike, Thank you for your service and sending love & light to his family. Please let me know how I can help in any way.

So sorry for you loss. I always remember Mikie skating with us as a 3yrs old, standing at center ice at times when coach gave his speeches. Then trying to avoid Mikie as we take a corner doing crossovers turning on the jets to avoid him. May you find peace from family and friends. My sincere condolences. Steve West HHS class of \"86\"

Very sorry for your loss. I remember Mike so well, skating around with my boys while they were playing at HHS. I am traveling and will not be able to attend his services, but he is in my thoughts and you are in my prayers. Diane Doyle

My name is Zach Malone, I’m an Army veteran and I was stationed at Joint Base Lewis Mcchord in Washington state in 2017. Mike delivered a seminar to my unit and he told his entire life story. To say it resonated with me and my unit would be an understatement. I met him after the event and we quickly became great friends. Together we were starting to form a peer to peer support group on our post. When Mike passed,I lost a part of myself.I try my best to remember his bright personality and the several hour long conversations we would have. We lived parallel lives, and we still do. He will always be my brother and always be my shadow. Im honored to know him. I miss you Mike, the sun has been muted since you’ve been gone. Your brother, Zach

To Michael's Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I have watched the movie Miracle over 100 times and the stand out job that Mike did in bring Jack O'Callahan to screen was just wonderful and unforgettable. I watched that game from my dorm room in 1980. As with other people here, I did not know him, but growing up outside of Boston and now with my daughter playing hockey, I wish I had met him. I am sure some parts of your lives, I am living now. I have a family member that has an addiction and I realize how much Michael's family must have gone through and again for this I am so sorry. It's a helpless feeling when you love someone, but have no way to help them, this feeling I do know. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. Mike's smile on the screen was something and I will remember it the rest of mine, I could see how it could light up the room All my best, Bruce

Dear Mantenuto Family, I am merely a fan who would respectfully say that I truly enjoyed Michael Mantenuto’s performance in Miracle. Depression is something that can destroy a person. I pray that Michael will have a wonderful and beautiful time in heaven, and that you will all be together again. In the meantime I pray that you find comfort in God‘s love in this life and blessings I wish and pray for you all. T. Itchon
