Mary Josephine (Dumas) Leontie, 95, of Hopkinton, died Sunday, November 12, 2006 at the Avery Manor in Needham, MA. Born in Everett, MA., she was the daughter of the late Victoria (DeYoung) and James Maddox. She was the wife of the late George Dumas who passed away in 1954 and the late Peter Leontie who passed away in 1995.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and was known as Cookie Nana. She was active in the town polls and helped out with many functions at St. John’s church.
She is survived by 2 sons, James Dumas of Hopkinton and George Dumas of Framingham, 4 daughters, Joan Comeau, Jean Arseneau, Marilyn Hayward all of Hopkinton, and Barbara Dumas of West Newton, 2 sisters, Barbara Maddox, Catherine Phelan both of Everett. She also leaves 31 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter Victoria Stone who passed in 1971, a son Robert Dumas who passed in 2001 and by a sister Margaret MacDonald.
Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 from 5-8pm at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St. Hopkinton. www.chesmorefuneralhome.com A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 16, at St. John’s Church of Hopkinton, at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow in the St. John’s Cemetery.
