Dearest Howell Family Although I did not have the pleasure of meeting Kyle, I never, EVER, had a conversation with my Grand daughter Marleigh Axman, that Kyle was not mentioned. Although we've never met, we learned about Kyle from Phil and Cara. We, too, lost our son, Aidan, 6 years ago, when he was 5. There is no greater pain. We sometimes wonder how we got from there to here, but somehow we did, and somehow you will, too. Lean on your loved ones, be good to yourselves and to each other. Do whatever you need to do to grieve, to process, to memorialize Kyle, and to survive these early days. Eventually, you will feel joy, again, and that enormously heavy weight on your chest will get lighter. It won't disappear entirely, but you won't want it to. It's your love for Kyle. He will always be your baby boy and although he isn't physically here like he should be, he will always be present (and make himself known to you in unexpected ways) because love never dies.
