Kristin Freeman Alpert passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 63. She was married to Joel Alpert for nearly 40 years and was a lifelong resident of Holliston.

Kristin showed her love for others in many ways. Even after being diagnosed with cancer, she crocheted blankets and hats by the dozens for friends and family. She was a PACU nurse at Metrowest Medical Center who loved caring for her patients and the camaraderie shared with coworkers. Kristin also loved to watch sports of any kind, including catching a Celtics game on the couch, heading into Boston for a Red Sox game, and watching Dave and Lindsay playing soccer, baseball/softball, and volleyball. She and Joel cherished time at the beach and loved them all from Ogunquit, ME all the way down to Florida. She volunteered her time to numerous causes – ranging from the high school ski club, youth sports, her church, and politics. But her favorite activity over the last five years was to spend time with her children and grandchildren – whether that was snuggling up under one of her warm afghans, reading a book, or playing pretend on the floor.

Kristin was the loving mother of David Alpert, and his wife Jennifer of Framingham, MA and Lindsay Serina and her husband Jason of Centereach, NY. She had four grandchildren that brought her endless joy – Luke (5), Ellie (3), Lucy (2) and Anna (5 months). She leaves behind six siblings: Jane True of Medway, MA; Kimberly Powers of Port Charlotte, FL; James Freeman and his wife Michelle of Anderson, SC; Peter Freeman and his wife Habiba of Nashua, NH; Jill Kirk and her husband John of Rochester, MA; and Caroline Engvall and her husband Carl of Bristol, VT. She was predeceased by her parents Patricia Renaghan and James Freeman. Kristin was also an adoring aunt, niece, and friend to many.

She spent the last 20 months fighting pancreatic cancer with strength, grace and gratitude – just as she met any challenge throughout her life, and will be missed greatly.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
