2009 47 mile Base to Base Ruck March supporting American Service Members near Dover Delaware. Pictured with Joe's are his POL brothers near the finish line. They were the only 5 of the 17 members to start and finish. Joe was also crucial to the inaugural 2008 March in 2008 helping organize it and was one of only 3 members to complete the 47 mile ruck march in 22 hrs. RIP Brother we walked many miles together and it meant the world that you were by my side. See you on the next journey.

Wish I hadn't lost my old phone from Korea. Some great memories there from 2013 where I met him. He always had a way of speaking about life and with such passion, such conviction that anyone around him would be awed and listen. He taught me how to ride a Longboard. Something I still do to this very day all because of his patience and encouragement. He wished me a happy birthday just last year...always checked in. My heart goes out to his family whom I have never met but will always be grateful for. Sending love, kindness, positivity, remorse, gratitude and everything that Pelkey believed in and truely felt in his big ol heart with all that he had to his family. He was and is loved by so many. Godspeed Brother

I only met Joseph once, and I did not even know his name until now. He was kind in the three-second encounter. He said, you did good. I don't know what happened. I am so saddened by this loss. My condolences and prayers to the family. I am so sorry for the sudden loss. May God keep you in His care.

We will always love and miss you, Joe. My heart breaks for everyone. My heart breaks for you. Just know, you did good kid. You live on through our daughter. I promise she will always know how much you love her, as she has always known. She will continue to be told stories of your outrageous adventures. You said many times, "she is the best parts of both of us." You are right. Miss you, love you.
