John R. Vitale, 81, of Hopkinton, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at his home
surrounded by family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late
Arcangelo and Margaret (Maglietta) Vitale. He was the husband to Frances
(Dolce) Vitale of Hopkinton.

A Hopkinton resident for the past 5 years, and formerly of East Meadow,
NY, John had attended Saint Johns Church of Hopkinton and St. Raphael?s
Church in New York. He worked as a cable splicer for the NY City Transit
Authority and as an engineer of Erasmus High School in Brooklyn, NY. He
was a Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion in Bellmore, NY. He
was also a member of the local 4 Operating Engineers and was a dedicated
member of the Arbor society. He loved sailing and fishing.

Besides his wife he is survived by 4 daughters, Mary Kullak and her
husband Frank of Shrewsbury, Donna Casasanta and her husband Michael of
Hopkinton, Francine Vitale of Massapequa, NY and Justine Legault and her
husband Paul of Arundel Quebec. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren,
Christopher, John, Robert Kullak and his wife Denise, Francesca and
Michael Casasanta, and Joseph Rocco Legault, as well as 2 great
grandchildren, Robert and Ryan Kullak.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 3-6p.m. at the
Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, 57 Hayden Rowe St.

1:00p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church of Hopkinton. In lieu of
