Not being a native Hollistonian, I did not know John well, but saw him frequently at the hardware store. He was always so helpful and pleasant. Always enjoyed chatting with him.

I worked with John for many years at the Labs and am sorry to hear of his passing. May he Rest in Peace,

I first met John in 1966 when he took over development of the titanium combat helmet intended for use in the Viet Nam conflict. We stayed in touch over the many years we both worked at the Natick Labs. John was an excellent engineer, a very hard worker, and the type of individual you could always depend upon to meet commitments. On the personal side he was a pleasure to have as a friend. After retirement I lost track of John and I was very sad to learn of his passing. I feel sure he is up there with the Lord looking down on us. I will definitely remember him in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of Johns passing. We were great friends and John was a great mentor to me over the years at Natick Labs. We stayed in touch for years after his retirement, I always enjoyed the times we would get together every year in each other’s birthday.. he helped me with many projects fixing up my house. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Diane nyren??

Jean, what a terrible loss. My heart goes out to yout it Granma Greedale who lived down the lane and tried to take care of you after school?

We have so many dear memories of John. It’s hard to single out one or two. But among them we remember the building of Fort Tuborg behind his Holliston house; his shaggy dog tale about the first guy to wire ahead for a reservation; tapping maple trees and making syrup from the sap; the big 250th parade; sharing the backyard pool; haying the field together; putting up political signs at election time; Republican Town Committee events; family vacations together at Jackson’s in Maine; drinking beer. We miss you, John.

Johnny and his sister Jean grew up just a couple houses from us in Wilbraham, MA, and John & I were in the same class up until we went to different high schools in Springfield. Lots of class photos of us all through the years! I vividly remember the lane beside their house, where we would walk down to "Grandma Rich's" home and pick blueberries behind her house. Such a wonderful childhood we all had, and it's hard to learn that we've lost another of that Wilbraham neighborhood bunch. Sending much love & sympathy to you all. Emily Dee Jerome Evans

So sorry to learn of John's passing. He was a nice kid back then and although I am a couple of years older, we all grew up together as Wilbraham was a small town. We were so fortunate to live here! Good-bye Johnny and my condolences to Jean and his family.

My cousin Johnny his sister Jean, grew up in Wilbraham, Mass. We had parties at their house that lent itself to all our friends. What a carefree time with the Greendales of Main Street. John was always fixing something and made all our male friends wonder how he did that or how did he fix that!. Gordie Eaton, Dickie Berhins, were car buddie. Always a great jokester and a wicked sense of humor. We kept up later in life with a family picnic at my home. John told me a great place to meet ladies was in the store's bed and bath department .They always helped a poor gent asking for help choosing colors or shower curtains etc. A smile and , that was Johnny, you devil !. Till we meet again Johnny!!! Love Lynn

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Greendale family. Find comfort in your special memories. Mary Mallis was a close childhood friend, and Marge Greendale was a long-ago golfing friend at QCC. Barbara Sherry Technical High School 1962

We were so sorry to hear of John’s passing. As a neighbor of over 20 years, he was always friendly and helpful to us. We will always remember all the neighborhood Christmas gatherings on Highland Street. Our thoughts are with the family at this time. Diane & Cliff Reeves
