Joan B. (Landry) Gerry, 84, of Holliston passed away on Wednesday March 30, 2022, at Medway Country Manor following a long period of declining health. She was the wife of the late H. Lester Gerry, who passed away in 1988.

Born in Cambridge, Joan was the daughter of the late Noel Landry and Emma (Turner) Landry. She was a graduate of Roslindale High School and was one of the first women Biochemistry majors at Northeastern University. She moved to Holliston in the early 1960’s.

Joan was a voracious reader who enjoyed everything from poetry to science fiction to mysteries to
classic literature. She loved music, singing, card games, and all animals, especially her beloved Irish Wolfhounds. She lived at Mission Springs in Holliston for many years and enjoyed many friendships there.

Joan is survived by her daughter Paula Homan and her husband William of Medway. She is also survived by niece Marie, and nephews David and Andrew. In addition to her parents, Joan is predeceased by her son who died at birth, her twin sister who died at birth, sister Elizabeth, brother William and his wife Sally, and nephews Gary and Timothy.

The family would like to thank the staff at Medway Country Manor and Compassionate Care for their kind and dignified care of Joan during her final years.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7th from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A graveside service will follow at Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you practice random acts of kindness and empathy.
