I am so very sorry. I remember running into Jim on the first day I worked at Framingham District Court many years ago and how great it was to see a smiling face; especially one I had seen growing up on Morningside Ave. The Bennett family gatherings were such wonderful memories from my childhood. During my time at the Framingham courthouse I saw Jim regularly and always enjoyed catching up with him. My deepest condolences for your loss, you will be in my thoughts. - Erin Moreno

To the Robertson family, on behalf of the entire Blackwell family, we send our heartfelt condolences and prayers. I am beyond words losing my friend. Jim was the first person I met moving to our house next door to the Robertson family. I remember arriving at the house, getting out of the car and running down our driveway to the back yard and I saw Jim. We stopped, looked at each other and we said hello, and he said 'you wanna play?' - and he was my friend from that point on. There was always something special and exceptional about Jim and the Robertson family. They were a loving family and Jim was smart, incredibly athletic, good looking, and soooo popular. He was a wizard in the classroom, on the basketball court, baseball field and backyard neighborhood football games. There wasn't anything that Jim couldn't do and when he did it, he made it look so fluid and easy. I remember walking to elementary school one morning with Jim and we had a test on the book (The Pearl) we were supposed to have read. I had finished the book and reminded Jim that we were having the test that day and Jim said hadn't completed the reading. As we walked to school, Jim asked me questions about the characters, storyline, plots and my thoughts. We arrived at school, went to class and had the exam on the book. Walking home I asked how Jim felt he did on the test. He said, 'just ok'. We received the test papers back the next day with our grades. I saw Jim's test paper - it had a massive A + on it, mine came shortly after - and it had a C with a note in red ink from the teacher, 'ted, did you even read the assignment? ' This sums up my life with Jim. He just made things that could be difficult look so simple and easy. I love Jim like a brother. I wanted him to come to our High School reunions because i missed him as well as soooo many other people in our class. I look forward to seeing Jim in Heaven, shooting some hoops with him, laughing and horsing around like we did for so many years.

Jim was a fine attorney and an even better man. He always had a smile on his face and a good story to share when I saw him at the Framingham courthouse, Chamberlain Pines, or around Holliston. He was a good man and I’ll miss him very much. Dave Cunis

Jim and I were great friends from kindergarten all the way through NPHS. He played point guard and I played shooting guard together on basketball teams at Hillview School, Salt Brook School and NPHS, where we were co-captain’s our senior year in 1977. On the basketball court, Jim understood the game more deeply than the others, and his passing ability was outstanding. He was fast, smart and selfless, as he routinely sacrificed his game so the team would do better. It was a true joy being on the court with him. Jim was the best point guard and the best teammate I ever played with and I played college hoops and baseball on some excellent teams. He was also the best person to be around. He loved to laugh and enjoyed finding the good in things, and he never hesitated to be kind and to help someone else. He was the kind of person we all should try to be, so I know with certainty that he is now with Lord Jesus in heaven and doing extremely well. I wish that we would have stayed close as we got older, but no matter, as I know I’ll be with him again when I pass.

Jim was a truly respectful, nice man. My memories of him go back to when I worked at Concord Court in the eighties and the several decades thereafter. No matter the circumstances, he had a positive word to bring a smile. Jim: “YOU’RE THE BEST” ! May the family find peace. Darlene DeSantis, Framingham

Jim was an outstanding basketball player and a tremendous teammate. He is on the front left of this photo from 8th Grade. He played point guard for the best team to ever play at Our Lady of Peace in New Providence, New Jersey. Jim had that infectious and beautiful smile. He was always taking care of his fellow teammates. Absolutely the sweetest person in the world. He will be dearly missed. David Hurley.
