Frances M. Peterson, 93, of Hopedale, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Born in Trimingham, England, she was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth (Brown) and William Francis Watling. She was the wife of 62 years to the late Elwin “Pete” Peterson.

Frances had a passion for life’s simple joys. She found peace and fulfillment in gardening, sewing, knitting, tennis, baking, and various crafts. One of her favorite activities was blueberry picking, which led to her delicious blueberry pies.  An avid reader, Frances enjoyed diving into English comedies and spending time at her lake house, where she often enjoyed bird watching.  In her retirement, Frances often traveled with friends and family, creating lasting memories to cherish. She was especially devoted to her family.  Her love for her grandchildren was unwavering, and she shared many special moments with them throughout the years.

Frances is survived by three children, Brian Peterson and his wife, Lori, Karen Chu and her husband, Philip, and Karla Hopkins and her husband, Garry; 8 grandchildren, Lindsay, Lauren, Eric, Kimberly, Jill, Jessica, Emily, and Michele.

Private services will be held in Trimingham, England at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New England Botanical Garden at Tower Hill, https://nebg.org/ or 11 French Dr. P.O. Box 598 Boylston, MA 01505. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston.
