I know it's been years since Ed's passing but i hope this post (if it makes it to you) makes you smile. First of all my many condolences. I'm sure Ed was an amazing man//father/husband. I just happened on his passing as I dug deep into the recesses of my memory and Ed Russo came to mind. I never in a thousand years thought I'd find anything, but the internet is a wondrous tool. Roughly 51 years ago Ed (Mr. Russo) was my band/music teacher at the Charlotte Dunning Middle School in Framingham. I only have warm thoughts when I remember those times as a now 61 y/o living in Natick with my wife. I'll always remember when Ed had me as a featured drummer on one of our numbers we played for friends and family. Never amounted to much as a drummer, but sometimes it's the little things you remember that make a difference. I'll always have fond memories of "Mr. Russo". I hope this post finds you well and gives you the smile it gave me finding that he had so many loved ones and had his devotion to Christ.

I have enjoyed getting to know Eddie over the last dozen years or so as we were both members of the Westwood Swing Band. Eddie was such a talented musician, and what a ham! He always added so much character to our band performances, besides just his tremendous musical abilities. Eddie was always complementary to me, always offering encouragement as a trumpet player. How I wish I could have been a student of his when I was growing up. I will miss him and always remember him fondly.

Here’s a Plaque with a photo of ‘Boots’ with Johnny Musto, Tom Vento and me, Jim Sachetta, when we called ourselves the Swingers Band. This was presented to us by an organized dance group of over 100 members who voted us the People’s Number 1 Choice Dance Band. Most of the songs that we played were arranged by Ed. He was a very talented musician with an ability to play both alto and tenor sax . Boots was also a genius on the clarinet. Most importantly he was a great friend to me and will be sorely missed. I’m sorry I will be unable to attend the services. With Deepest Sympathy, Jim Sachetta
