Just seeing this so very sad such a great loss to the Pyrotechnic Community and anyone who was lucky enough to have known Him. Dave worked with us for many years as a technician and director of safety As well as being a safety liaison and One of the founding members of the safety team for the Pyro technicians Guild International or the “PGI”. To say he will be missed is a vast understatement. Dave was an extremely kind soft-spoken brilliant soul my heart is broken may you rest in peace I will miss you and your wit dearly. Our deepest condolences to the personOur deepest condolences to the Pierson family.

I first “met” Dave in 1991, after seeing a post on USEnet news group “rec.pyrotechnics”. He posted about the New Hampshire Pyrotechnics Association; this certainly caught my eye; being a lifelong pyrotechnic enthusiast, and finding likeminded (somewha)t locals was kind of mind blowing to me. I emailed Dave, inquiring about joining, and addressed him as Mr. Pierson. His response was something like “Pullease! Mr. Pierson is my dad. Call me Dave.”. I finally met him in person at an NHPA meeting in 1994. Every interaction that I had with Dave was a good one. His varied interests, and breadth of knowledge was both highly interesting and entertaining to me. I never heard Dave utter a bad word about anyone, and always looked forward chatting with him at NHPA and PGI events. I have only good memories of Dave. I can’t say that about too many people. I was greatly saddened to hear of his untimely passing. My sincere condolences to his family.
