Charles (Charlie) W. Collie, 73, of Holliston, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Born in Jamaica Plain, MA, he was the son of the late Margaret (Holloman) and Charles S. Collie. He was the husband of 47 years to Annemarie (Merz) Collie, who were together for 53 years.

Charlie was a graduate of Northeastern University with a Business Degree and Suffolk University with a Journalism degree. Throughout his career, he worked in various roles, including as a press secretary for former Massachusetts Governor, Edward King. He was also a television news reporter for a CBS affiliate in Steubenville, Ohio. After pursuing his teacher’s certification he taught at Grafton Job Corps and enjoyed frequently substitute teaching in Holliston and surrounding towns for a few years. A political history buff, he had a particular interest in the life and legacy of President John F. Kennedy, often engaging in thoughtful discussions about history and current events. Charlie was a frequent contributor to the online Holliston Reporter, providing interesting insights into a variety of historical events. Prior to a debilitating stroke in 2016, he was an active member of the Charles River Tennis Club in Medway, MA. He also enjoyed cycling, running and was a great cook. His greatest passion was being a Dad.

In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his son, Matthew Collie of Holliston and his girlfriend, Sarah Medeiros. He also leaves his siblings, Kevin Collie and wife, Faye of Framingham, James Collie of Holbrook, his wife Karen, Kathleen Deveer and husband, Robert of Hyde Park, Evelyn Collie of Jamaica Plain; his nieces and nephews: Jay, Andrew, Alicia, Robert Jr., Casey, Timothy Jr, Teresa, and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and his beloved dog and sidekick, Molly.  He is predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Collie, his wife Donna, and Daniel Collie.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17th from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral home service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
