Ann M. Tomacelli, 88, of Holliston, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. Born in Rosscarbery, Cork County, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Johanna (Hayes) and Daniel Gorman. She was the wife of 29 years to the late Daniel Tomacelli.
Ann arrived in America in 1958 and became a hairdresser. She then began her lifelong career as a Caregiver at the Walter E. Fernald School in Waltham, and several facilities on Cape Cod. Ann was a dedicated member of several communities. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was an active participant at several churches, including St. Anthony’s in Allston, St. Patrick’s of Watertown, Our Lady of Victory in Centerville, and St. Mary’s in Holliston. She was also an active member of the Irish-American Club of Cape Cod. As a proud grandmother, Ann was an enthusiastic supporter of her grandchildren’s sports teams.
Ann is survived by her children, Ernest Tomacelli and his wife, Nancy, of Holliston, Marie Shutt and her husband, William, of Holliston, and her step-son, Daniel Tomacelli (deceased) and his wife, Valerie, of Clinton, MA. She also leaves her grandchildren, Matthew, Kayla, Joseph, Jenna, Amanda, Danielle, Matthew and Amanda; as well as four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews from Ireland and America. She is predeceased by 8 siblings.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will be held on Saturday, March 29th at 11:00 a.m . at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Boston, ccab.org
