Holliston-

Adrienne M. (O’Brien) Beattie, 67, went home to God from her home in Holliston, Massachusetts on August 11, 2021, surrounded by her family. Adrienne was born in Bronx, New York, the only daughter of Brian M. O’Brien and Elizabeth J. (Kelly) O’Brien.

A former resident of Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, Adrienne graduated from the Academy of Mount Saint Vincent, Tuxedo Park, New York in 1971 and Emmanuel College, Boston in 1975. She was an elementary school teacher at  St. Peter’s School in Dorchester, Massachusetts and at St. Theresa’s School in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. After her 1981 marriage to her beloved husband, Paul J. Beattie, together they raised their three sons. She then returned to the field of education as a public school paraprofessional at Placentino Elementary School in Holliston, retiring in 2019. Teaching children was her life’s passion and all those she guided, including her own, are the better for it.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her devoted sons, Paul J. Beattie Jr. (Regina) of Milford, Ryan M. Beattie of Plymouth, and Christopher P. Beattie (Edmund) of Jersey City, New Jersey; her adored twin grandchildren, Liliana J. Beattie and Brian J. Beattie of Milford; six brothers, Kevin O’Brien (Jeanne), Laurence O’Brien and Vincent O’Brien all of New Jersey, Michael O’Brien (Melba) and Brendan O’Brien, both of New York and Peter O’Brien (Erin) of Connecticut; and a brother-in-law, Douglas Beattie (Karen) of Nantucket. She also leaves nine nieces and nephews, an extremely close group of eighteen members of the Emmanuel College Class of 1975, affectionately known as “The Herd” and her Holliston ladies.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 16th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 17th at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Matthew’s Parish in Southborough.
